The context

What this website is for.

Couples venue shopping are comparing against a hundred barns and mills. The differentiator is a specific place with a specific history, so the estate has to be shown rather than described.

Enquiries are high-intent and low-volume, so the site should qualify rather than dazzle — pricing and day-of flow matter more than atmosphere.

What the site has to do

  • Establish place and period before any styling language.
  • Show the estate and the river terraces as evidence, not mood.
  • Publish capacity, schedule and pricing on the site.
  • Make the day-of flow legible so a couple can picture it.
  • Keep enquiry simple, warm, and short.

Scope

What the build covered.

Structure, content, design, and build for the whole site — the parts a visitor can see and use.

  • Editorial homepage with estate photography
  • Venue and plan-your-day pages
  • Pricing and enquiry flow
  • Historic typography against a restrained palette
  • Full-bleed image treatment
  • Responsive layout across devices
