The Anatomy of a Column

Before a single sketch is approved, the atelier makes one garment — the column — and asks a woman we trust to wear it for a month. To work in it, to be photographed in it, to sleep badly in it once. Her complaints shape the collection more than any mood board.
The column for Noir Rêverie came back with three verdicts: the zip caught at the rib, the hem whispered against marble floors, and the armhole stole two degrees of reach. All three were fixable. All three would have been invisible on a runway.
We call this the anatomy. It is the slowest part of our process and the only part we would never shorten.
