Meridian

About the school

We kept meeting smart people who were never taught to be careful with data.

Meridian started in 2019 as a Saturday reading group in a Quezon City café — six of us, one whiteboard, a pile of corporate reports we disagreed about. Seven years later it is two floors, eleven cohorts, and a rule that hasn't moved since the café: nothing counts until you can defend it in front of people who use it.

We are deliberately small. A faculty of four practitioners, eighteen students per teacher at peak, and a syllabus we publish in full — including the weeks we're still arguing about.

Faculty

Four teachers. No teaching assistants grading your work.

Dr. Amara Okafor

Faculty lead, Statistics

Fifteen years in clinical-trial design. Runs the measurement block and the defence rubric. Believes a p-value is a promise, not a verdict.

Theo Villanueva

Faculty lead, Engineering

Built the warehouse team at two Series-B startups from scratch. Teaches the pipeline and operations weeks; keeps a graveyard of broken jobs on screen.

Priya Raghunathan

Director of Careers

Former analytics hiring manager. Rewrites every résumé she touches and rehearses every student twice before demo day.

Marcus Lindqvist

Faculty lead, Visual Analysis

Newsroom data designer turned teacher. The reason our dashboards survive his red pen — and, eventually, executive eyes.

The building

Two floors above a print shop on North Avenue: one lecture room that holds thirty, a lab that holds twenty-four machines, a reading room that smells faintly of ink because of the shop downstairs, and a demo-day stage we set up every twelfth week ourselves. Open lab nights are Thursdays, 6 to 9 pm — visitors welcome, laptops optional.

The library floor holds eleven cohorts' worth of capstone posters, filed by question, not by year. Alumni come back to read them more often than you'd expect.

Come see a Thursday.

The best way to audit us is to attend us. Lab nights are real working sessions — current students mid-defence-prep, faculty at the whiteboards, coffee in an unflattering mug. No admissions pitch, no tour script.
